Aetna Freight Lines, Inc., based in Warren, Ohio was formed in 1938 and is licensed by the Federal Highway Administration as a common and contract carrier with authority to transport general commodities within the United States. Aetna is also authorized by the FHWA as a licensed property broker. Aetna is primarily a regional carrier serving the central and mid-Atlantic states of: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee and Kentucky. Aetna is primarily a flatbed carrier with a fleet of approximately 96 units and a network of approximately 45 active terminals. Aetna's adjusted gross revenues in 2006 were approximately $17.1 million. Projected revenue in 2007 is $19.4 million. Aetna was acquired by TII in November 1999.
